The Paint Rock Valley is unique in the amount of life it holds. Our friends at The Nature Conservancy have dedicated major resources to cataloging and preserving all that is here. We appreciate the science and dedication they have shown to this area.
It is arrogance to presume that this place should be like every other flattened, paved piece of monotony that dots America.
If lack of development
was the price to pay for losing the civil war, then maybe it wasn't too high
a price.
